New Community Reward Program is Coming!
We are excited to introduce a new Reward Plan to recognize active community members! You can gain credits by engaging with the community. How? Read on!
When you join an open-source community, there are many ways in which you can get involved. For example, Giancarlo Fissore, a Ph.D. student in statistical physics and machine learning, started as a contributor and built a protein search with Jina.
Giancarlo’s journey in our community hasn't stopped there. His deep involvement has led him to become our community hero. He has guided new members in their onboarding journey, supported the community via doubt resolution, and joined our community panel talk. His impact as a passionate, open-source citizen was recognized. Also, he extended his global social networking by participating in the first cohort of the Jina Community Advocates Panel (JCAP). Our US team members welcomed him when he traveled to San Francisco.
As a panelist of the first cohort, he took the initiative to introduce Jina to more developers. JCAP also provided mentorship programs for advocates like Giancarlo to improve their knowledge of the Jina ecosystem, craft their technical writing skills, get career development suggestions, and a variety of other developer community activities. With his active engagement and all the love from the Jina AI community, he is truly a community hero. After the ten weeks program, he was declared the first JCaptain this September. We officially announced the exciting news in Sep. Of course, he also received awesome swag!

Jina AI Community Reward Plan For Active Members
From Giancarlo's story, we know that coding is not the only way to engage with an open-source community, and the first step to being a community hero is to be active. Being an active community member, grants exposure, and provides personal impact, friendships, career development opportunities, and more. Several Jina AI team members have come directly from our developer community. A vibrant and supportive community can bring value to all developers. As a part of our community, we hope you will contribute to building the community you would like to see.
We are excited to introduce a new Reward Plan to recognize active members! This new program will provide newly designed Jina AI swag. Stunning Jina AI items are designed for our community members and displayed through a swag portal. You can gain credits by engaging with the community, then redeem those credits for any swag you want. There is no limit on how many credits one can earn! Curious about what cool swag is offered? 🏆 10 Luckiest New Members
On the first day you join our community, don't forget to do a self-introduction on the #introduction channel, and join the survey to tell us your expectations! Every month, 10 new members who finish the two tasks will get 10 credits with a randomizer.
🏆 Top 10 Monthly Active Messengers
If you have any issues or cool ideas about using the Jina ecosystem, don't hesitate to post them on our public channels! Please also feel free to share your comments, give recognition, and answer questions. Each of the top 10 active messengers will receive 10 credits every month. All messages in public channels are counted, no matter whether you post or reply.
🏆 Community Advocates Award
We hope to see more advocates from our community. If you manage to make more developers know about the Jina ecosystem, you will be awarded 20 credits each time! And don't forget to post whatever you have done at our #showcase channel to redeem your credits! There are various ways to make it happen:

2️⃣ Write technical blogs about Jina and share them with public
3️⃣Give a speech about the Jina ecosystem at any events you are in
4️⃣Host a local Jina advocates meetup
5️⃣Apply to be the speaker at our community event
